"Hold still," Leonard barked as he ignored the impish smirk upon Jim's face, patching up the captain's latest injury from the impromptu rock climbing excursion that he simply had to indulge himself in, despite the doctor's (secretly amused) protests. Leonard sighed as he glanced over at the near-ancient vehicle Jim had chosen for their road trip, and beyond it, the majestic canvas of the distant sky was painted with the glow of a setting sun, and it made Jim's eyes shimmer as they faced each other.

"Only you could drag me out here," Leonard said in a whisper, and before the doctor could finish his work, Jim's lips were upon him, his arms were around him, and their shadows intermingled on the desert floor.
